If you are a WildBlue customer and have installed the WildBlue Optimizer, you will find an icon on your Desktop labeled PORTAL. The icon is a depiction of the WildBlue ‘W’. This can become your entry into your account information at WildBlue and also your entry into the World Wide Web.
One of the first things to do is to make yourself comfortable, and the WildBlue Portal allows you to do this by personalizing your home page on the portal. Once you log in using your username and password the home page of the portal will appear. There are 5 categories listed at the top of the window. These are My Account, My Content, My Layout, My Themes and My Pages. To personalize your home page you can go to each of these sites in order or at random.
I went to the Themes section first to pick a theme for my home page and then to the Content section. After that I chose My Layout to place the content in a way that was comfortable for me. You can do this in any order that is most comfortable for you. By having a theme and content I find it easier to pick and place my content into a structured layout environment. You can perform these functions in any order you wish and they do not have to be done all at once. Take your time and truly make it your home.
Clicking on”My Themes” brings you to a page that has 3 categories, Stylish, Our Themes, and Classic. When you click on a theme it will automatically transfer to your home page and you can see the effect it has. If you don’t like it, hit the back arrow and try another.
In the My Content section you will see choices for news, weather horoscope and many other headings. Choose the items that are of interest to you and add them to your list of contents. When you have finished choosing your content go back and enter the “My Layout” area.
In the layout section of your portal you can choose the number of columns you want, what content you want in those columns and where they are placed. There are arrows to move items up or down and from column to column depending on your preference. When you are done save and exit and you will be taken to your new Personalized WildBlue Portal.
As you use this page you may find that you wish to change or tweak it a bit. You can do this at your leisure whenever you wish. Follow the instructions above for setting up your home page, and add or delete content as you wish.
At some point you may wish to visit the “My Pages” section and add pages to your personalized WildBlue portal. You can name pages in this module, move them around and add content to them. Go ahead, have some fun and experiment. Any of the changes you make can be undone at any time so you do not need to feel locked into any particular scheme that you have chosen. Our moods, needs, and requirements change and you can change your home page to reflect these changes as they occur.
