These people are known as preppers and are doing everything from storing food, water and ammunition to building elaborate underground bunkers in order to try and survive the end of the world as we know it.

However, there is more to being prepared with food and water.  For example, it is also important to have survival skills such as how to start a fire without matches, how to catch food, create a place to live and how to live off the land.  Most of us no very little about these skills, but this is where a broadband internet connection can come into play.

There are sites on the internet for just about anything including how to be a prepper and prepare for whatever might be coming.  In fact, there has been a recent boom in broadband internet sites for those who believe that now is the time to prepare.  There are actually sites that are nothing but facts and those which allow users to ask questions of experts and to talk to other members of the board.

There are also numerous websites that are dedicated to selling preppers the items that they need in order to complete their preparations for whatever might be coming in the months or years ahead.  In fact, there is an entire market dedicated to selling items or teaching skills which may be needed in the aftermath of a war or terrorist attack.  As more and more people begin to prep for a natural or manmade disaster, you can be sure that there will be more of these sites coming online.  As a result, having a broadband internet connection is essential when it comes to being fully prepared for what might lie ahead.

Of course, for those who live in rural regions, they may feel the need to prepare just like anyone else.  However, they may have the most trouble getting on the internet because of the lack of traditional internet service.  In many cases, those who live in small towns or by themselves in a rural setting may have to depend on satellite internet service in order to get online. The good news is that broadband satellite internet service is now just as reliable as cable or DSL. This has not always been the case, but thanks to new technology, there are more and more options to get online for anyone, no matter where you live.  This is good news for those who feel the need to prepare for any possible future threat and would like a chance to get online for advice or to buy much needed supplies. Any quick check of the internet will quickly show you what all is out there that you can prepare for.
