How the Internet Works for Rural Residents

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Living in a rural region can present a set of challenges for those residents.  For one, it can be expensive in gas to drive into town every time you need something.  This is especially true the further you live from town.  As a result, rural residents might find themselves waiting until they need to run a lot of errands at one time before heading into town.  In addition, living in a rural region can make it difficult if you forget something on one of those errand runs.  On the other hand, the internet is making some of these errands much easier to run.  In fact, you can run a lot of those same errands from the comfort of your couch.

Using Satellite Internet For A LawyerWhile we don’t always have to want one, there are times in our lives where we need the services of a lawyer.  Most of us don’t have one on retainer so we must quickly get one when the need arises.  The good news is that we used to have to rely on word of mouth or the yellow pages in order to find the right lawyer.  Now, thanks to the internet, we can select a counselor from all corners of the globe to help fight our case for us.

North Dakota And Rural Satellite InternetDid you know the geographical center of North America is smack dab in the middle of North Dakota? I didn’t know that. I also did not know that rural broadband satellite internet service is available to all North Dakotans.

You can learn a lot of interesting facts if you take the time to check it out. I do that by firing up my computer and web surfing with the aid of a satellite internet connection. It is a wonderful tool to take you to anywhere in the world without leaving your couch. Lazy? Maybe, but it helps to do a little legwork before you actually visit the location of your choice.

The Big And Little Apples Of NY With Rural Satellite InternetWhat’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of New York State? It’s a dairy farm in Brunswick, isn’t it. No? A cider mill in Canisteo? No, again? Well, what are you thinking of if it’s not that? Oh, I know, you’re thinking about New York City, Niagara Falls, High Speed Satellite Internet and the Statue of Liberty.

On the front porch of a small log cabin deep in the woods, Grandma sits smoking a corn cob pipe,  churning butter while some scraggly barefootMountains, Coast And Rural Satellite Internet young’uns rassle in the dusty yard.  Pa’s out hunting with ole’ Blue and maybe there will be some good possum stew for supper. Sister is in the home surfing the net with rural satellite internet. Of course, that last part never happened but it is something that could be happening today!

‘Live Free Or Die’ But Don’t Go Anywhere Without Satellite Internet

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

New Hampshire And Rural Satellite InternetThe people of New Hampshire mean business as you can tell from their state motto, ‘Live Free or Die’! Since their efforts to free our country were successful we thankfully appreciate their part in the American Revolution and what they have given us since then in the way of technology and tourism. Check out a few tourist spots listed below.

New Hampshire’s covered bridges number in the hundreds with some dating back over a century. Most have been replaced over the years due to flood or fire damage but, old or new, they are a wonder to behold. Instead of emailing a neighbor with your rural high speed satellite internet service you would saddle up a horse and use one of these bridges to cross whatever river or brook came between you and the other side.

Custer’s Last Stand Had No Satellite Internet!

Monday, August 15th, 2011

Montana And Satellite InternetI bet it would have made a big difference in the outcome had they had access to computers and high speed broadband satellite internet but unfortunately we’ll never know. They didn’t know that the Indians had already driven back 10 cavalry companies at an earlier battle which prevented that contingent from getting word to the other columns, including Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer, that there were huge numbers of Native Americans involved.

Had they been able to plan this battle with the use of satellite internet, the improved communications would have forewarned these ill-fated men that they were outnumbered. Instead, they went ahead to certain death.

A Modern Day Camelot Uses High Speed Satellite Internet?

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

Massachusetts, Kennedy's And Satellite InternetEveryone has heard of the Kennedy Family; truly the first American royalty hailing from the cities and shores of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We even made a kingdom for President Kennedy and First Lady Jacqueline. Jack and Jackie lived in a White House that was transformed by dreams and tragedy into the magical land of Camelot. As with the Camelot of the middle ages, there was no high speed internet service; heck, there wasn’t even any internet yet but I like to look at history through the rose-colored glasses of one who has a computer and Satellite Internet so excuse the title.
