What Can Wireless Electricity Do For Wireless Internet

Monday, November 29th, 2010

So we are all aware of wireless internet and how it has changed the way we live, work, and interact in our everyday lives.  Maybe

Wireless Electricity May Be The New Wireless Internetsomething that is not talked about as much “yet” is wireless electricity, but I assure you the conversation is on its way.  Maybe, you have seen the charging pads you can get at places like Best Buy, where you can just lay your devices on a pad and they will start charging.  Of course each device has to be equipped with a charging case that is usually included with the charging pad.  The technology is coming, though where devices will not need to make any contact with a charging surface in order to recharge.  The charge will be carried completely wirelessly through the air.

Dial Up Users Left Behind With Next Generation Internet Browsing

New Browser Changes Rural InternetI recently read a very intriguing article about a new type of internet browser that is going to be developed to integrate with all of the new social media websites.  Since I have done a few articles on social media I couldn’t pass up the chance to write an article about this new innovative browser.  The name of the browser is going to be called RockMelt, and it is going to be created by the founder of Netscape, Marc Andreessen.  As most of you may know Netscape, in all practical purposes, was the first internet browser.  It only makes sense that the person who pioneered internet browsing should be the first to make a hit with a new generation of web browsers.

Online Education With Fast Broadband Internet

Getting An Online Education With Satellite Internet ServiceI was reading through some testimonials the other day when I came across an individual expressing his gratitude to WildBlue for enabling him to have access to his online classes.  Now, I know we have talked about online degrees before, but I felt compelled to bring it up again after reading this testimonial.  I can relate to people taking online classes and even getting online degrees as I have several friends getting their entire degree online, and I have even taken some online classes in the past.  I just thought about how difficult this would be without access to high-speed internet service.  I live in a rural area myself  and went to a fairly small high school, that actually required me to take one of my classes via correspondence because the class was not offered at the school.  This was back when dial-up internet was the only option.  I had to snail mail all of the class work to the teacher, and the course material was sent to me on a CD.  When I read that testimonial I kept thinking about how awful it would be to have to go back to that.

Rural Citizens Get Social With Satellite Internet

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

I am sure all of us, or at least most of us, use Facebook as well as many other social media tools.  In light of the Social Network movie that recently came out, which was the story of the founding of Facebook, I thought it might be nice to talk a little about social media.  This wave of interactively connecting to family and friends through social networking has come to be something that many people I know do not think they could live without.  However, the reality is that many people in rural areas are forced to live without these sort of utilities at their disposal simply because they only have access to dial-up internet.  These people don’t know what they are missing right?

Fast High-Speed Internet In The Country

If you have been looking for fast internet in the country because you currently only have an option of dial up this is the article you need to read.  Most of us would be surprised of the number of people that still do not have access to broadband speed via DSL or cable.  As a matter of fact I read somewhere that as high as 30% of rural citizens still use dial up internet.  I actually know of several fairly large businesses that are located in rural areas that do not have access to high-speed internet.  Many of these businesses cater to the wild game hunting industry in our area.

Update On WildBlue Optimizer Testing

Friday, November 5th, 2010

I finally ran the WildBlue Optimizer on my test drive. I will admit to a small amount of hesitation as I have my operating system running very nicely and I have an aversion to looking a gift horse or operating system in the mouth.

After I reminded myself that I was “Beta Testing” I jumped right in and ran the WildBlue Optimizer. It installed flawlessly. It placed the Portal, Help and WB Mail icons on the desktop and made the other changes listed in the “Read Me” file.

The Latest News With Fast Rural Internet

Monday, October 25th, 2010

If you’re like me, I wouldn’t be suprised if you were tired of having your news filtered by media conglomerates and their sponsers to promote a particular agenda that’s not nessacarly your own.  Well just when you’ve lost hope in all televised media coverage, high speed internet steps in to the rescue.  With WildBlue Internet Big News Storyhigh speed internet you can browse millions of different “alternative media” sources, which are usually more accurate anyway, to verify or dig deeper into a report you may have seen on TV.   This comes as a breath of fresh, non-polluted air, in a media realm sought for and mainly owned by the sponsers who advertise on their stations.  This means the big networks such as FOX, NBC, and ABC have a strict protocol they must adhere to, which includes only reporting “approved” material and the bloggers, truth seekers, among with the countless internet journalists can more or less tell it like it is and, in my opinion, like it should be, raw.

Yoga With High-Speed Internet

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Free Yoga Classes On High Speed InternetEveryday, more and more people in the west are discovering the benefits of the Eastern breathing, meditating and stretching exercises called yoga.  Now, I find it highly unlikely that someone from Asia came to America to spread the gospel of yoga to those who would care to listen here in the United States, but rather (and  I don’t think anyone knows for sure how the practice came to the U.S.) it seems more likely that a westerner, wandering through the beautiful lands of the eastern hemisphere, came upon it one way or another and brought back with them the sacred knowledge of having complete, conscience  control of the human body through breathing and stretching exercises.

Satellite Internet Service In Africa

Satellite Internet Service In AfricaThe availability of high-speed internet service throughout parts of rural Africa seems to be scarce.  Satellite Internet is not as readily available in countries throughout Africa as it is in other places throughout the world.  This is largely due to the fact that Africa is fragmented into many small national markets and has a minimal economy of scale.  Low income levels also factor in to the harsh market conditions.  Since there is not an expansive market in Africa, and the market that is there is so spread out that the satellite solutions that are available are often several times more expensive than even the services throughout Europe in North America.  This obviously does not sit well with the extremely low-income population.  However, it seems that relief may be on the way through the utilization of new satellite technology.

Affordable, Back Up Internet

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Backup Satellite Internet ServiceMore than any other time in the history of the internet, staying up and running without any downtime is crucial.  When companies have their internet access go down, they lose thousands and thousands of dollars every hour or every day.  Our society has become so reliant on the World Wide Web, without it, we would be in big trouble.  The internet keeps businesses connected with vendors, suppliers, competitors, market information, employees, and so on, meaning without it business would die!
