Hi Josh, we don’t have any verified evidence that those games will work. To your point, it does make sense if the game is not solely based on action and re-action toward another player it would work better. However, as I’m sure you are aware no gaming is officially supported with satellite internet.

I have on average about a 700ms to 720ms ping.
I can play games such as Red Dead Redemption with no gaming problems.
But when im trying to play games like Call Of Duty, it is an extreme amount of latency, though it seems to only do that with the multiplayer versus gameplay.
I was wondering if maybe the other multiplayer gamemode , referred to as “Zombies”, would play.
I was thinking it would considering it is not a versus gamemode, but more like a co-op play.
The only problem i could see is maybe some lag when shooting at the NPC’s.
To dumb it down, Would Call Of Duty Black ops 2 “Zombies” allow me to play with some decency with my ping rate?

Hi Jaylen, I’m not sure what version of Hughesnet you have, but you could try to upgrade to Gen4. However, latency and high ping rates are something that will likely always exist with satellite internet to some extent simply because of the distance from the satellite. If you are a heavy gamer then you might be best served trying to find a Cable or higher-end DSL service.

The voip does work great with generation 4. I am using a simple voip hookup and call quality is clear. I don’t know if I would try fax because of the delay issues.

This is very informative, but I’d like to know what would be the best ISP to play online games with little to no latency. I currently have Hughesnet and suffer latency problems on PlayStation 3 online. I’ve also heard problems of people’s ping not being good.
